Apply via Dice today!<br><br>Description:<br><br>Role: AWS Application Developer<br><br>Client: TIAA<br><br>Location: Halifax, CA (Remote)<br><br>First preference would be EX TIAA.<br><br>Max Rate: 60$/hr. on C2C<br><br>Day to Day Job Duties: (what this person will do on a daily/weekly basis)<br><br>Develop and enhance cloud-native applications deployed on AWS.<br><br>Design, build, and deploy microservices running on AWS EKS (Kubernetes).<br><br>Develop serverless components using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and EventBridge.<br><br>Build and maintain secure integrations and broker services, including Pershing integrations and other third-party financial platforms.<br><br>Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven services to support distributed system architectures.<br><br>Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.<br><br>Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth container deployments and release cycles.<br><br>Write clean, testable, and scalable code following cloud-native design principles.<br><br>Troubleshoot application, integration, and performance issues in production environments.<br><br>Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.<br><br>Contribute to technical documentation, API specifications, and integration design artifacts.<br><br>Basic Qualifications: (what are the skills required to this job with minimum years of experience on each)<br><br>Minimum 4+ years of hands-on software development experience (Java, Python, or Node.js preferred).<br><br>Minimum 2+ years of experience building and deploying applications on AWS.<br><br>Minimum 2+ years of experience working with AWS EKS (Kubernetes) for containerized application development.<br><br>Minimum 2+ years of experience developing serverless applications using AWS Lambda.<br><br>Minimum 2+ years of experience building APIs, microservices, and integration services.<br><br>Experience building or supporting financial services integrations (e.g., Pershing or similar brokerage platforms) preferred.<br><br>Experience implementing and working with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, CodePipeline, etc.).<br><br>Strong understanding of cloud-native design patterns and event-driven architectures.<br><br>Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.<br><br>Degree:<br><br>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.<br><br>Nice to Have; (But not a must)<br><br>AWS Certified Developer – Associate or AWS Certified Kubernetes specialty.<br><br>Experience in financial services or brokerage domain.<br><br>Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).<br><br>Experience implementing secure authentication (OAuth2, JWT, Cognito).<br><br>Experience with observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
