Job Summary

The Project Manager manages the workflow of MarCom projects in support of campus-wide marketing communications goals. Partnering with several areas of responsibility throughout the Department and the University, this position manages workflow, project scheduling, delivery, and implementation on a per-project basis, maintaining the project management system and facilitation of the project intake process by receiving new requests, completing setup and sharing project details for cross-functional team review.

 

Essential Functions

Collaborates with all relevant stakeholders in defining the project scope and objectives.

Articulates all work projects into detailed project documentation and scheduling.

Implements and maintains project requests and clearly communicating project timelines, consistently.

Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams within MarCom and other key departments across campus as necessary.

Maintains strong relationships and communicates regularly with campus clients.

Communicates client feedback, and other updates to the operations team, as needed.

Manages changes to project schedules and budgets.

Maintains project management system including entering, tracking, building, and closing project plans.

Receives new project requests and completes set up and make-ready tasks.

Manages the department’s fee structure and client billing, working closely with the MarCom business manager to ensure all invoicing is timely and accurate.

Coordinates campus outdoor marketing initiatives such as pole banners, signage, and other project-specific branding campaigns.

Obtains detailed estimates on marketing giveaways based on best value to the university.

Assists with video shoot logistics and scheduling.

Undertakes project tasks as required.

 

Other Functions

Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field or 5 years’ work experience in project management, marketing and/or communications.

Strong organizational, project management, and workflow coordination skills.

Experience with project management systems (such as Wrike, Asana, Jira, etc.).

Working knowledge of content management and file sharing platforms (such as OneDrive, BOX, Dropbox, etc.).

A capacity for a high degree of independent action and initiative, including the ability to establish priorities and manage multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting defined goals and deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in team settings with diverse groups of people.

Ability to be “service-oriented”, focusing on customer needs while maintaining University brand standards.

Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple complex tasks in a face-paced environment.

Knowledgeable in MS office, as well as the Adobe Creative Suite.

A willingness to learn other skills used in digital design and maintenance.

Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.

Excellent communicator with very strong organizational skills.

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

Experience working in a team-oriented environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university environment and involves minimal physical exertion.

 

Work Schedule and Work Arrangement

M-F 8:30am-5pm
This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where an employee’s work is regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a portion of the week. As this position falls within the Professional Staff Union, it is subject to the terms and conditions of the Professional Staff Union collective bargaining agreement.

 

Salary Information

Pay Grade: PSSAP Grade 26
