Medical Biller - Orthopedic & Chiropractic Billing Experience Preferred

Job Summary:

Progressive Technology is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Biller with experience in orthopedic and chiropractic billing to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient billing and coding processes, working closely with healthcare providers to ensure compliance and reimbursement for services rendered. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate and timely medical billing for orthopedic and chiropractic services, ensuring compliance with insurance guidelines and regulations.

  • Review and verify patient information, insurance coverage, and medical codes to ensure proper billing practices.

  • Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding claims to ensure prompt resolution and payment.

  • Work with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation for billing purposes and assist with coding and charge entry.

  • Communicate with insurance companies and patients regarding billing inquiries, claims status, and payments.

  • Stay updated on insurance policies, billing regulations, and coding updates specific to orthopedic and chiropractic care.

  • Handle denied claims, submit appeals, and track the status of pending payments.

  • Collaborate with the accounting and finance departments to maintain accurate financial records and reporting.

  • Assist with auditing and other compliance-related activities as necessary.

  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and medical information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associates or bachelors degree in healthcare administration, medical billing, or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience in medical billing, with a focus on orthopedic and chiropractic billing (3+ years preferred).

  • Proficiency in using medical billing software and systems (e.g., Kareo, AdvancedMD, or similar platforms).

  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding for orthopedic and chiropractic services.

  • In-depth understanding of insurance processes, payer policies, and reimbursement models.

  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.

  • Ability to analyze and resolve billing discrepancies efficiently.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of medical billing experience, specifically with orthopedic and chiropractic billing.

  • Experience with claims submission, follow-up, appeals, and working directly with insurance companies.

  • Knowledge of both private and government insurance policies, including Medicare and Medicaid, and how they apply to orthopedic and chiropractic care.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday.
