Job Summary

MNC JOBS INFO is seeking a dedicated Cell Technician I to join our partner Commnets operations team in Aztec, NM. This role is essential to maintaining and optimizing our wireless infrastructure and ensuring uninterrupted service for our customers. The Cell Technician I will support the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment at cellular sites, playing a key role in network reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wireless telecommunications equipment.

  • Monitor and ensure the optimal operation of cell sites, power systems, and other telecom infrastructure.

  • Conduct routine site inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.

  • Collaborate with field engineers, NOC staff, and vendors to resolve technical issues efficiently.

  • Accurately document maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory usage.

  • Respond to emergency outages and service calls, occasionally outside normal working hours.

  • Ensure all work complies with company standards and federal/state regulations.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and industry best practices at all times.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications in telecommunications is a plus.

  • Basic understanding of RF systems, DC/AC power systems, and telecommunications hardware.

  • Proficient with basic tools, meters, and testing equipment.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and site diagrams.

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

  • Must hold a valid drivers license and be able to travel to remote sites as needed.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in cellular or telecommunications fieldwork.

Working Hours

  • Standard schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with occasional on-call or weekend work depending on operational needs.

  • Flexibility to respond to after-hours service disruptions or emergencies is expected.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic electronics, cabling, and wireless network components.

  • Familiarity with site management tools and maintenance tracking software.

  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments (climbing towers, lifting equipment, etc.).
